Godzilla looks big and scary in new trailer for Japanese reboot

All the way back in 1954, the Japanese film studio Toho created the original Godzilla. Now, they are rebooting the franchise for 2016. The first trailer for Shin Godzilla (meaning “New Godzilla”) gives the clearest look at everyone’s favorite monster yet.

The trailer isn’t giving away much, but the film will focus quite a bit on government’s reaction to the monster. The people in the trailer dressed in blue overalls look similar to the employees of the Tokyo Electric Power Company (Company that¬†operated the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant during the 2011 disaster).

It’s not clear yet, but is has been reported that this will be the largest Godzilla ever. We’re excited to see more, with its Japanese release on July 29th this year.
